Since the inception of the National African-American Women's Leadership Institute in 2000, 47 women have graduated from the 16-day fellowship program. The alumnae are from 17 states: California (1), Colorado (1), Florida (5), Georgia (2), Illinois (6), Indiana (1), Maryland (8), Michigan (1), Missouri (1), New York (3), North Carolina (7), Pennsylvania (2), Tennessee (1), Texas (3), Virginia (3), Wisconsin (2). Generally, NAAWLI fellows are mid-level career women who work predominantly in the nonprofit and corporate sectors. Some work in local government and a few are self-employed. Search
