Community Service Project
Motivating Our Student Achievers In Corporate/Community Service (MOSAICS) introduces high school students to the importance of community service as well as provides exposure to corporate America through interaction with State Farm Insurance Companies (SFIC) employees. Using a service-learning model that integrates community service with academic instruction and teaches young people about civic responsibility, MOSAICS will match students from local high schools (i.e., Bloomington High School, Normal Community High School, Normal Community West High School, Central Catholic High School) with State Farm community service volunteers. The SFIC employees will mentor the high school youngsters, fostering a commitment to community service and, also, introducing them to the corporate world. To strength the schools' community service curriculum, MOSAICS will also link school administrators and teaching staff with Youth Services of America, the leading youth volunteer organization in the country.
