The Collegiate Diversity Project
Project developed by: DEBORAH T. DANIELS
Location: Greensboro, North Carolina
The Collegiate Diversity Project intends to: (1) broaden the knowledge of racial
and ethnic traditions among college women; (2) to help them learn how to defuse
potential racial and ethnic conflicts using peer mediation and conflict resolution;
and (3) to share this knowledge with others. Colleges involved are in the Piedmont
Triad region of North Carolina, with Bennett College as the initiating institution.
Thirty young women representing diverse ethnic and religious cultures will participate.
These young women will serve as ambassadors on their respective campuses helping
resolve racial and ethnic conflicts. They will make a difference now and for generations
to come.
